What is the Summer Social?
The event is a camping weekend with friends in the Peak District. The sort of thing that anyone could arrange to ride the roads and trails and to exchange stories over some food and drink. This may sound like an unusual approach for an event. After all, anyone could do this?
With family, work and other commitments, trying to find a weekend to meet up with friends to do something we all love, such as ride and camp isn't easy, so perhaps planning ahead for particular weekend does have a place among the busy summer festival season?
The Summer Social 2027 will take place from 3pm on Thursday 8th to 12pm on Sunday 11th July 2027 at a venue near Bakewell in the Peak District.
Hopefully you are here, because someone might have said you'd like to come and join us, with others from the trail and adventure motorcycle community.
If you didn't, please ignore this with my apologies!
How did it start?
In July 2025, a few friends had a weekend free and decided to meet at the Peak Motorcycles HQ for a weekend of food, drink, conversation and riding motorcycles on the roads and the trails of the Peak District. They had a few other friends, who had a few more and by the time the weekend arrived we numbered more than thirty and almost ran out of space! We had a fabulous time, and after some consideration, decided that we could do it again, but perhaps the friends of friends, also have friends who might also like to come along. Turned out everyone knew at least two other people and in 2026 we were over 100.
How much it is?
The cost of attending the event is £109 per person.
This includes:
- 3 nights camping (Vans, and cars with trailers welcome)
- Toilets
- Hot Showers
- Daily breakfast including a roll with a fried egg and sausage or bacon, tea, coffee and orange juice
- A reasonably priced bar (but not free drinks I'm afraid!) open until 1am each night or everyone's had enough.
- Thursday: Being Social
- Friday: Live Music
- Saturday Night: Adventure Motorcycle Film Showcase & TAMPodcast Live
What else?
Drinking water will be available as there is a mains supply to the site.
Power for the event will be by generator. Unfortunately hook-ups for vans and charging of devices will not be available, so please bring power packs or make arrangements to charge your devices on your bike or in your van or car.
There will be food vendors, The Sunshine Pizza Company and Tikka Tacos will be back for 2027, with more to be confirmed.
Pre-Pitched ADVenture Lavuu
If you'd like to come but don't have a tent or are travelling light, ADV Products will have some of their ADVenture Lavuu motorcycle tents available as a pre-pitched option. These are single pole tents, similar to a Tipi weighing just 3kg with a pack size of 35x25x25cm, but having a 2.2x1.6m sleeping area. With an extra pole and the tarp, they can also provide some shelter for your bike, either protecting electronics from bright sunshine or keeping things dry for that campsite repair that can't wait. Bring a camping mat and your sleeping bag and you're good to go. There were quite a few of them, both rented and brought by their owners in 2026!
If you decide you'd like to buy one after testing a pre-pitched one at the Summer Social, you can have one shipped to your home with £50 of your pre-pitched tent fee refunded. If you want to take it home with you, you will save £75 off the retail price or £50 off if purchased at a later date.
You can find out more about the ADVenture Lavuu here:https://advproducts.com/products/adventure-lavuu
Merch
Summer Social Merch will be available closer to the time.
Shelter
We will have several tents with tables and bench seating to ensure that if the weather is against us, we can stay dry, and it it's too hot that there is some comfort in the shade! Both 2025 and 2026 were hot and sunny, but that is by no means guaranteed. We will try though!
Any information collected will be used solely for this event and will be deleted when it's over. It will not be used for any other purpose and will remain confidential. The exception is your name and email address, only if you ask to be kept informed about future events.
The weekend is not a commercial event. Neither the organisers nor the volunteers are paid for their time for planning and running the weekend. Some items to support the event may be purchased rather than hired and used in the future to allow the event to grow.
We hope to see you there!
